Driver License Copy Apostille Authentication

The requirements to getting a Driving License Apostille are generally simple and fall into two categories:

1. Copy of the Driver License
2. Certified Driver Abstract

For Certified Abstract you will need to contact your State DMV and request the certified document from them. Some states allow online ordering and delivery, while others will require in-person appearance or mail-in request for certified record to be produced. Fortunately, the prevailing majority of the Foreign Governments do not require this. 

For the Copy of the DL to be apostilled all you need is notarize the copy as true and unaltered copy of the original and submit it for apostille processing. 

Sometimes getting a copy of the driver license may be challenging, especially when you are no longer reside in the United States. Nonetheless, there are ways to get the documents notarized without coming back to the United States. Apostille authentication requirements will vary from one state to another, so it is crucial to have the document prepared correctly.
